Hermès Ashtray Change Tray Sceau Horse Head in Vallauris Ceramic

Called “cendrier sceau à tête de cheval” (horse head seal ashtray), because this gives the impression that the ceramic has been hot marked with a stamp, like a seal, the horse’s head being in relief

This rare piece is made of Valauris ceramic and was made in the 40’s.

The edges are rounded and the ceramic forms waves on the surface

Measurements:
— 17,5 cm at longest (6,89 inches)
– 2,8 cm at highest (1,10 inch)

Condition: Very good. Front drawing in original shape: Unaltered, no chips, no breaks, no cracks. A slight chip on the back, visible in the last photo. The ceramic has some imperfections, some original (on the back), some due to handling. No trace of cigarette burn
