Collection Vintage De Sela Mexican Christmas Ornaments

Set of three 1960’s colorful handmade Christmas ornaments by Mexican folk artist, De Sela, depicting whimsical animals including a horse, a bull and an elephant. De Sela’s work is usually fabricated from papier mache, similar to Sergio Bustamante or Gemma Taccogna, and though the ornaments have a similar look, they are actually a styrofoam base with painted surfaces and yarn accents. The combination of colors, including hot pink, green, blue, yellow, red, pale pink and aqua blue, are a fabulous way to add an artsy touch to your holiday decor. Each ornament is signed and outfitted with a ring for hanging. Faux tree shown for display purposes only.

Good to fair vintage condition with signs of age including some paint loss here and there, please look closely at the photographs. The bull has a little surface split in the styrofoam near one ear as shown in photograph 9 and also shows signs of color fading.
