1937 Bourgogne French Wine Locker

MAGNIFICENT BOURGOGNE FRENCH WINE LOCKER (Circa 1937)

I purchased this beautiful Bourgogne French Wine Locker/1937 from the prestigious Parc Monceau French Antiquities and Rarities collection over 30 years ago and it has graced our home ever since. When I first saw it, I wanted it immediately. My husband, however, was more reticent about making such a grand purchase. We had purchased other items over the years from Parc Monceau and had were able to negotiate the price. But nothing we purchased prior came close to this investment. My husband made an offer and told the shop owner to call if she had a change of heart and was willing to meet his price. I was heartbroken and yes – pouty all the way home. He assured me that we would get a call. Well, a few days went by and sure enough they were willing to negotiate the price. I flew to the store and purchased it immediately. I was delighted to find such a gorgeous and unique antique in such beautiful condition. I felt as if I had bought a rare treasure!

Produced in Bourgogne, France (Sel’n Privee 3-38’4-38’9), this magnificent, authentic, vintage French Wine Locker is truly a unique find in excellent condition. Crafted by hand and made of rich mahogany, the unique and detailed design of this impressive French Wine Cabinet is extraordinary and commands attention as the focal point of any room. The exquisitely detailed hand-painted motif of French wines, vines, grapes, and regions is richly depicted on the front, doors, and sides and accented with a hanging grapevine design that is masterfully executed and distinctly fluid. Impeccably restored, it has a high gloss finish that enhances the Wine Locker, particularly the hand-painted detailing. The 16 compartments offer ample storage for wine or other items. Each compartment has a top shelf with a large, lower storage area. Bronze hardware. This is an unusual find that deserves the moniker “Spectacular”. There is no comparison, since there is no other.
