A superb antique Italian hand hammered silverplate planter / jardiniere / coal scuttle / wine cooler. Marked on reverse: “Battute a Mane, Silver plate” meaning “Beaten by Hand”. It is well made with a stylish design in a lovely silver patina and riveted swing handle. It would be beautiful with a plant, displayed with decorative items, or used as a wine cooler / champagne bucket. It is 7.75″H to the tallest point of the rim and 14″H with the handle extended.

These pair of Medieval-style cast stone planters were crafted in the 1960s. The cream finish is delicately mottled with a patina of black, white, and green, adding to its charm and character that will age gracefully. Each jardiniere is decorated with a horizontal relief scene of people and trees, all done in the French medieval style.
