An American Victorian Rococo Revival carved Walnut bedstead, mid-19th century, attributed to Prudent Mallard, New Orleans.
The is antique has just been completely refinished, with a sophisticate and intricately carved crest over a double panel headboard center between two huge Hexagonal posts with William and Mary accents. Headboard is made off of 5 parts the two post, two panels and the crest, all detachable, making handling very easy. The seven unusual, longitudinal slats are original and look like a platform, making the use of a box spring optional. A modern 12″ thick mattress flushes with the top of carved fretwork at the ends of each side rail. The bed measures in 63.5″ in width, 79″ in in length and 71.5″ in height to the of the crest and 23.5″ to the top of the footboard. Clearance to bottom of the rail is 9.5″. Floor to top of the rail is 18″

Composed of sinuous tubular brass head/footboards with mahogany and rosewood frames.
Wood has been conservatively refinished and is in very good, vintage condition. Unpolished brass bearing a rich patina shows light wear/tarnish.
Can be used as two single beds or together as a king. Though, as these were designed in Italy, note the specs below when considering box springs/mattresses.

This beautiful queen bed frame is from the late 70s. It’s all hand built with heavy duty pine wood. It has a beautiful natural, smooth tree surface, finish and the slots on the side have already a built in a edge to hold the box spring/ mattress.
92″ long, 64″ wide, 37″ high front, 46″ head board, 18″ high side wood slots (floor to top) and 10″ high from the floor to the edge that holds the box spring.

This is a beautiful, antique iron bed frame with original hitch side rails connecting the headboard and footboard.
