Vintage Design
Suite of six Bauhaus model RP-6 chairs created in the 1930s by Austrian designer Bruno Pollack. These were produced by PEL (Practical Equipment Ltd), the leading manufacturer of modernist tubular steel furniture in Britain, who hoped to replicate the success of the French Thonet in manufacturing tubular furniture.
Created for the layout of the BBC, the tubular metal structure is green lacquered and holds the seat and back fabrics using an exposed screw system.
Condition of use. Seat height: 42 cm
